    Hangout Safety Tips

    TeteoApp Hangout Safety Tips

Meeting new people is exciting, but always prioritize your safety. Use these tips to help ensure a safe experience on TeteoApp.

    Online Safety

Never Send Money or Share Financial Information

    • Do not send money, especially via wire transfer, as it is nearly impossible to trace or recover.
    • Avoid sharing information that could grant access to your financial accounts.
    • Report any user who requests money immediately.

    Protect Your Personal Information

    • Do not share sensitive information, such as your social security number, home address, or daily routines.
    • Parents should limit information shared about children, avoiding specifics like names, schools, or ages.

    Stay on the Platform

    • Keep all communications on TeteoApp until you feel comfortable moving off-platform.
    • Be cautious of users who quickly request to move conversations to other apps or phone calls.

    Be Wary of Long-Distance Scams

    • Be skeptical of users claiming to be from your area but are currently "stuck" elsewhere, especially if they ask for financial help.
    • If a user avoids meeting or insists on a relationship without first meeting, consider it a red flag.

    Report Suspicious or Offensive Behavior

    • Block and report any user who violates our terms, including requests for money, harassment, inappropriate behavior, or fraudulent profiles.

    Protect Your Account

    • Use a strong password and be cautious when logging in from shared computers. TeteoApp will never ask for your login details via email.

    Meeting in Person

    Take Precautions

    • Get to know the person through the app before agreeing to meet. A phone or video call can be a useful screening tool.
    • Meet in public places for the first few encounters. Avoid private settings until you're sure about the other person.

    Inform Friends or Family

    • Share your plans with someone you trust, including the time and place of your meeting.

    Control Your Transportation

    • Arrange your transportation to and from the meeting location to ensure you can leave if necessary.

    Know Your Limits

    • Be mindful of your alcohol or drug intake, and don't feel pressured to consume more than you're comfortable with.

    Guard Your Personal Items

    • Keep drinks and personal belongings like phones and wallets with you at all times to avoid potential tampering.

    Trust Your Instincts

    • If you feel uncomfortable at any point, leave immediately. It's better to be safe and trust your instincts.

    LGBTQ+ Travel Safety

    Be Aware of Local Laws

    • Check the laws and legal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals in the area you are visiting. Some regions may have specific restrictions or lack protections.

Use the "Switch Your Teteo Status Off" Feature

    • In potentially unsafe areas, consider toggling off your visibility on TeteoApp.

    Exercise Caution

    • Be extra careful when connecting with new people in regions with restrictive laws, as there may be risks of entrapment or legal repercussions.
